The second book in the Wanted series finds 17-year-old Grace struggling to make ends meet while working as a bounty hunter. Although she is still focused on avenging her family's death at the hands of the Guiltless Gang, the trail has gone cold, and tracking down other criminals nets just enough money to pay the bills. Still, she misses Joe and the warm community of the Ndeh tribe with whom he lives. She wonders if leaving was the right thing to do, but any doubts are erased when Grace suspects the Guiltless Gang is planning a train robbery. Returning fans won't be disappointed in the breakneck pacing, tense fight scenes, and increasingly steamy romantic scenes with Joe. Throughout, Grace shows some character growth, struggling to balance her need for revenge with greater happiness. The author tries to portray the Ndeh in a positive light, but it is negated somewhat by problematic dialogue and romanticized depictions. Despite its technical shortcomings, this will satisfy readers looking for a fun, action-packed adventure with one tough heroine.
