Skylar, Dana, Milo, and Cal are back and hot on the trail of two more kidnapped G-Ts (Greater-Thans), girls with paranormal abilities whose blood is being illegally harvested to produce a powerful drug called Destiny. In the course of trying to rescue one of the girls, Cal is injected with Destiny, giving him the ability to walk again but almost certainly signaling his early demise. The mother-daughter writing team continues with more of the same nonstop action and suspense they created in Night Sky (2014), leaving a wisp of a hanging plot thread that may mean more entries in the series. Readers may come for the action and moderate bloodshed, but many will stay for the diverse characters and the dual love stories. Connect this with Lynn Viehl's Youngbloods novels or, perhaps, Michael Thomas Ford's Z (2010).
