Horn Book (Tue Aug 01 00:00:00 CDT 2017)

These are re-illustrated editions of Hillert's old-fashioned sight-word books featuring bland stories or concept introductions. The controlled vocabulary makes for choppy reading. The new art provides comprehension support, though some (including Cowboy) is still dated-looking and most is of poor quality. Appended reading reinforcement activities extend instruction. There are twenty-two other fall 2016 books in this series.
