PreS-Gr 2 The lovable, bug-eyed Fly Guy and his boy Buzz are back for another foray into a nonfiction subjectweather. The water cycle, types of weather events, and weather-related careers are some of the topics addressed. Buzz and Fly Guy appear within each spread, interacting humorously with the photographs. Pages alternate between a layout of framed photographs with standard text and a notebook layout done in a handwritten font. Factoids are attention-grabbing but may prompt questions the book cannot answer. A statement about how animals can get trapped in a waterspout "until they fall from the skylike rain" appears next to a photograph of some frogs (all their feet on the ground), matter-of-factly labeled "FROGS." Puzzlingly, the coverage of weather is framed within Buzz and Fly Guy's visit to a weather station, yet the text does not define what a weather station is. However, the humor and fun will spark curiosity in students needing a bit more jazz in their nonfiction. VERDICT A worthy introduction to weather for lower elementary students.— Sara White, Seminole County Public Library, Casselberry, FL
