Middle-school readers are sure to recognize most of the celebrities newly added to the Beacon Biography series. Though the layout can be bland, each title uses engaging writing to introduce its star, relating his or her childhood and "big break" as well as other noteworthy accomplishments. The youngest of the bunch is found in Millie Bobby Brown, which describes how landing the role of Eleven on Netflix's Stranger Things came at a time when she almost gave up acting; and readers will appreciate Brown shouting, "Kissing sucks!" after having her first kiss filmed for the show. With current content, well-cited sources, and figures of interest to youngsters, these biographies are a solid choice for libraries.
