This visually appealing Disney Coding Adventures series entry (4 titles) uses Dash, Elastigirl, Bob, Jack-Jack, and Violet from Disney-Pixar's Incredibles 2 to teach the concept of coding conditionals to elementary-age kids. Conditionals are if-then-else instructions that the coder gives the computer, based on different conditions: if this exists, then you do this, or if something else exists, you do something else. Gaming examples and illustrated sequence flowcharts throughout the book make the concept easy to grasp. Offline coding activities help reinforce the idea. The book effectively uses examples to show kids just how much they use conditionals in their everyday lives ("Want to answer a question in class? If yes, then raise your hand"). Young kids who may be intimidated by coding will discover how fun and easy it is.

Sometimes a computer must choose between different actions. Do computers decide on their own what actions to take? No! People write lines of code to tell computers what to do. The code may include conditionals that help a computer make decisions when there's more than one choice. You can write conditionals too! You don't even need a computer to have fun with conditionals. Elastigirl, Dash, and other characters from Incredibles 2 will help you learn about conditionals while you fight evil.
