From the Marijuana Today series (5 titles) comes a comprehensive overview of what we know about the benefits of marijuana d what we don't. The book goes into some detail about the individual diseases that marijuana has been shown to help in varying degrees: illnesses ranging from epilepsy and inflammatory bowel disease to anxiety, PTSD, and MS. The book gives an overview of the drug and then discusses its components, how it soothes specific illnesses and symptoms, and its side effects. How different countries use and regulate marijuana is gone over in some detail, as are some of the studies that have brought clarity to assumptions about the use of medical marijuana. Overall, this is dry reading, and in some cases repetitive. Still, students doing research on the topic will find it extremely useful to have all this information in one compact book. The layout, with numerous photos and plenty of white space, makes this easier to plow through.
