Working undercover for the government, teenage siblings Elisha and Elijah pose as runaways and are recruited by leaders of the Knight-Moore Academy, a strange school where students are psychologically conditioned to behave in amoral ways. Quotes from the overwrought and overlong story are sometimes unnecessarily repeated in oversize text blocks. The novel's Christian underpinnings are far from subtle.
