Arnold's classic picture book about a boy whose jumped-on bed falls down through the floors of an apartment building, gathering companions and objects along the way, has been revised and newly illustrated but not improved. The crisp text of the original has been muddied; the understated pictures that were a perfect foil for the humor have been zanied up into a chaotic mess.
