It is a stretch to even classify Mendel as a biography when only five pages are biographicalthe rest of the book discusses everything from monasteries to microscopes, with quite a bit on genetics. The format works best with the information presented in Pasteur . While these titles may not foster sustained reading, they may spark an interest in science.
