Horn Book (Thu Apr 28 00:00:00 CDT 2022)

This book's four sleuths are real kids, and the setting is Boston's famous marathon and Freedom Trail, but there the verisimilitude ends. The didactic narration includes the kids' unnatural tourist-guide-style dialogue as they search Boston for their kidnapped cousin. The plot proves unbelievable, and the computer clip art and black-and-white photos of the young sleuths create a cheap design. Glos.
