Gr 2-3-Cursory introductions to two notable children's authors. Chapters are one page in length, share the space with a small captioned picture or quote from one of the author's books, and sit opposite a full-page photograph or illustration. Large-type text and art are superimposed over multi-shaded paper and words. All of this, combined with gold-colored borders, ribbons, curlicues, and author signatures, gives the books a cluttered look. The superficial content blends what scanty data is known about these two individuals with information about their writing careers and their books. Rowling is already dated as it credits her with writing only three books so far. It does, however, mention that Harry Potter will be a seven-book series. Data in both books is presented chronologically.
