The latest in Telgemeier's pictorial version of Ann M. Martin's Baby-sitter's Club series is even better than its predecessor, Kristy's Great Idea (2006). Still focusing on real-life concerns, this volume zeroes in on Mary Anne, 12, who sheds her shy persona, makes a new friend, and convinces her strict father to ease up t only after a fight among the club members threatens to destroy the group. The dialogue is crisp and spot on, as are Telgemeier's black-and-white cartoons. Particularly notable is the very funny sequence during which feuding club members Mary Anne and Kristy try to avoid one another while babysitting together.
