Although an overarching plot eventually emerges, it's interspersed with many silly side vignettes befitting the work's comic-strip origins, which are subtly denoted through changes in background page color. The episodic moments and the general storyline are accessible to those unfamiliar with the Breaking Cat News gang, but this book will appeal most to those who have some background knowledge of the many characters.
