PreschoolGr. 1. In this bedtime easy-to-read, a little bug--bath taken, teeth brushed, story read--settles down for the night, tucked into a tissue-box bed alongside the bed of a great big boy. The goggle-eyed bug is more odd looking than sweet, and, occasionally, the text doesn't scan, but the bedtime routines will be comfortably familiar to little ones, and the story, presented in extralarge type, features enough repetition in spelling and pronunciation to promote beginning reading success. In easy-to-read rhyme, Snug Bug and Mama Bug follow their bedtime routine, including bathing, reading, and--on Snug Bug's part--using delaying tactics. Their activities are familiar and the human-sized surroundings amusing; however, the illustrations of the large-eyed bugs are somewhat amateurish.
