School Library Journal

Gr 2-4-These books are ideal for the beginning study of these countries. They cover all of the areas of interest to students, including animals, sports, foods, celebrations, storytime, and even a few words in the country's native language. Small amounts of information are surrounded by current photographs, maps, charts, and illustrations. There is also some fictionalization in the form of postcards. The colorful, well-designed pages may encourage some children to browse but the books are also useful for reports, and their colorful, modern look is sure to grab the attention of even reluctant readers.-Anne L. Tormohlen, Deerfield Elementary School, Lawrence, KS Copyright 2007 Reed Business Information.
