In this entry in the new Wicked History th Century series, Price plants Hitler's anti-Semitism and the Holocaust firmly in the foreground. He briefly traces his subject's youth and World War I career, then covers his political ascent (A Bloody Rise to Power), the formation of the Third Reich, and the course of World War II (A Dark Curtain of Terror) in somewhat greater detail. Keeping his tale uncomplicated, Price barely mentions Hitler's associates r does he more than occasionally glance past his central figure in apportioning responsibility for the Reich's character and horrors. Enhanced by plenty of small but clear black-and-white photos, back matter that includes a well-chosen selection of further resources, and a compact format that sits easily in the hand, this is likely to be both useful to and popular with a broad audience of readers.
