Hank the blowhard "Head of Ranch Security" narrates two long-winded tales. In one, he investigates a mysterious hole in the garden and in the other he plays pirate with the baby-talking son ("Maybe we can pway Tweasure Island") of the family who runs the ranch. Both meandering stories take forever to get started and are padded with songs and malapropisms; the illustrations are as amateurish as the writing. [Review covers these Hank the Cowdog titles: The Case of the Burrowing Robot and The Case of the Shipwrecked Tree.]
