Frog in turn tells parrot, who tells chimpanzee, who tells elephant, each animal imagining the worst--which gets bigger and bigger. In the watercolor and ink illustrations that fill each page, bright colors and slightly goofy expressions help the reader smile knowingly from a safe distance.
