The Snoops, Inc., a diverse quartet of middle schoolers, investigates the theft--potentially by a ghost--of valuable manuscripts (Library) and sabotage of the Spirit Squad (Cheerleader). Short chapters introduce plenty of red herrings; unfortunately, the foreseeable endings are unsatisfying, and the bland characters feel interchangeable. Digital illustrations add to the page count without adding much context. Discussion questions and writing prompts are included. Glos.
