When gay 17-year-old Jorge is expelled from school for fighting, he begins training to become a pro wrestler. At one of his early bouts, he meets Thom, and the two boys begin dating. However, Jorge puts their relationship in jeopardy when he begins secretly taking steroids and, as a result, becomes uncontrollably angry on a date, putting his new relationship on thin ice. Worse is to come when, outed on a popular wrestling blog, he is forced to assume a flamboyantly gay persona in the ring as a new gimmick. Although this makes him wildly popular with his fans, Thom is furious at Jorge's stereotyping of gay behavior and ends their relationship. Soon thereafter, Jorge once again gives way to an episode of rage that gets him ousted from the wrestling federation. Jorge vainly tries to reconcile with Thom, who is having none of it. Has Jorge truly lost everything? This volume in the Real Love series successfully uses a high/low format that will appeal to reluctant readers as well as wrestling fans.
