Horn Book (Thu Aug 01 00:00:00 CDT 2013)

When scatterbrained baker Madame Croissant gets an important order for five hundred cupcakes, she scrambles to fill it. Her granddaughter, who's never baked before, tries to help but causes a mess. Fortunately, the bakery's faithful delivery dog, Mister Dash, comes to the rescue. The acrylic illustrations are charming, but the story, though it has its funny moments, lacks continuity.

School Library Journal (Wed May 01 00:00:00 CDT 2013)

PreS-Gr 2 Madame Croissant, a famous French pastry maker, creates her own bakery, Cupcakes &4; Go-Go, in this sequel to Merci Mister Dash (Tundra, 2011). With the help of her faithful and charismatic canine, Mister Dash, and energetic granddaughter, Daphne, she bakes and delivers her delicious and delightful cupcakes. Kulling's playful use of words ("clouds of flour" and "open boxes of chocolate and banana chips fly like sparks from a fire") add a poetic touch to the story. The cupcake orders pour in, including one for the mayor's party, and it's a huge endeavor to make sure that all the scrumptious treats arrive in one piece and on time. A few French words are scattered throughout, without providing a reference to the English translation. This could possibly confuse both readers and listeners and break the fluidity of a storytime reading. Although playful and quaint, some irrelevant text makes the story too wordy. Bright, acrylic Illustrations provide an enjoyable accompaniment to the story, particularly Mr. Dash's appealing expressions. An additional purchase. Krista Welz, The North Bergen Public Library, NJ

Mr. Dash may not have a pedigree (he can count five different breeds of dogs as family), but from his furry head to his wagging tail, he is a gentleman. His fine manners make him a perfect companion to Madame Croissant. Their life together is graceful and civilized, what with walks in the park, stamp-collecting, and a passion for flowers.

Mr. Dash is also in charge of delivering Madame Croissant's world-famous cupcakes. All is well until Daphne, Madame Croissant's rather lively niece, arrives to turn the cupcake world upside down.

Filled with humour, this delectable story will appeal to dog-lovers AND cupcake-lovers the world over.
