In LaHaye and Jenkins' best-selling Left Behind, the born again and innocent are snatched away to Heaven, leaving behind Ray Steele and Buck Williams, good men who never quite believed. Tribulation Force features the two again, heading up a sort of resistance to the Antichrist, who has the power to convince his adherents that the evil he has committed is actually good; only those in the Tribulation Force can see through him. Even so, what Ray and Buck do makes little difference, since the authors simply follow out the Bible literally, with the Antichrist establishing his throne in the New Babylon, etc.
