PLB $21.25; ebook $21.25. Gr 3-6 These hi/lo books offer basic information about the lives and careers of star basketball players. The minimal narratives use simple language to appeal to struggling readers. Each spread consists of approximately two sentences on one side and a high-color, glossy, uncaptioned photo on the other. Glossary words are not highlighted, making the glossaries a bit pointless. Although the subject matter may entice young basketball fans, the information provided in the 10 or so pages of text is almost too sparse to add any real value to a biography collection.
