Interesting facts are scattered throughout this lively exploration of the characteristics and habits of several species of whales. Especially notable is the care Simon has exercised in choosing stunning photographs. Simon's affection for his subject is clear, and his final plea to readers to consider the future of whales is a fitting end to this tribute to the species.
