With the help of Gina's boyfriend, David, Lucifer starts to unravel the events that led up to the kidnapping. Through questioning Gina's friends, battling filcher demons, and discovering an ancient and dangerous book of sorcery, they discover that the culprits are evil creatures of the underworld, the Sisters of Witchdown. áLucifer and David must find a way to the dimension of Shade, and the closer they inch toward finding a solution, the closer their feelings for each other strengthen.áBut Gina must be saved, even at the cost of their growing relationshipeven if they must face death itself.Based on Nelson's comic book of the same name, Hexed, the novel, retains the appeal of the rapid adventure and witty dialogue usually seen in superhero comics. Lucifer is quick to gain respect and empathy, while consistently being highly able and strong.áIntelligent, witty, and sarcastic, Lucifer is a compelling presence and entirely mysterious and flawed at the same time. áThe stakes are high and there is a real fear of danger and darkness. áThere is much to explore in this world: witches, demons, underground magic, corrupt corporations, dangerous dimensions, fun concepts, and mystical gadgets. áEach mystery solved is like an episode of Buffy.Jane Gov.Hexed is enchanting. It is a complex story with many layers, a page-turner and suspenseful. There is never a dull moment with events happening at rapid fire. At times, things can seem a little too convenient, such as Lucifer having a literal bag full of tricks. Some of the plot twists are predictable, but the story is still very engaging. Hexed is for those looking for a new series to start. 4Q, 4P.Kara Eng, Teen Reviewer.
