LC number unavailable. Gr 1-2 Bold and colorful, these volumes contain questions (answers are provided) that will encourage reader interaction. Though the texts are clearly written and appropriately simple, the topics covered are difficult for the intended age group and the examples may confuse them. Count Some More and Fractions use money and telling time as examples, but there's an assumption that readers have prior knowledge of these concepts. The visuals are appealing, with lots of photographs of smiling, posed children taking part in math activities. Each book contains a "Taking It Further" challenge that asks children to apply their newly acquired knowledge. These books would be worthwhile additions if needed for advanced students or where these topics are part of the curriculum.
