Mia the ballerina kitten is back in two easy-to-read stories: when a friend needs help practicing her solo, Mia comes to her rescue (Daisy); Mia's class sees her big sister Ava perform, but she feels left out when Ava doesn't watch her dance during a special teaching session afterward (Big Sister). Simple dance vocabulary and colorful, twirl-packed illustrations are equally pleasing. Glos.

Mia, a young kitty ballet dancer, is excited that her class is going to see her sister, Ava, a real ballerina, perform onstage. Afterward, they get a chance for Ava to help them with their dance moves. Ava doesn't help Mia, though, and that hurts. When Mia finally confesses why she's sad, Ava tells her, "I already know you're a star." The text is oh-so-simple, but Farley sprinkles it with star power and inserts heartfelt emotion. The adorable artwork, featuring a hippo, porcupine, and giraffe as potential ballerinas, brings smiles. Right on target for dancing dreamers.
