Overnight camp for musical-theater nerds? Absolutely! Jack and Louisa, frequent costars and almost eighth-graders, don't have to think twice before heading off to Camp Curtain-Up for the summer. They'll take any excuse to perform together, and as an added bonus, their twosome soon becomes a foursome. New friends Teddy and Kaylee tell them all about Ghostlight, a student-run drama competition that draws schools from across the Midwest. Back home in Ohio, the local theater troupe is starting auditions for The Sound of Music, and while Lou is psyched, Jack thinks he might want to try something else ke directing a show for Ghostlight only he can get her on board. As with previous volumes, this third installment in the Jack and Louisa series is packed with theater references, from well-known blockbusters to off-off-Broadway gems. Jack and Louisa are growing up, and starting to explore first crushes, and, for Jack, this means some questions about his sexuality. Tender, addicting, and, as always, boatloads of fun.

The third installment picks up at the end of summer theater camp. Back at school, Jack directs and Louisa stars in an all-student version of The Fantasticks for a musical theater competition. There's drama onstage and off as the duo grapples with first crushes, each on a different boy. The fast-paced narration features many musical theater references, both familiar and deliciously obscure.

A show-stopping middle-grade series about life in and out of the spotlight from Broadway stars and Internet sensations Andrew Keenan-Bolger and Kate Wetherhead.

Two weeks at Camp Curtain-Up is just what Jack and Louisa need to fuel their passion for theater: Broadway musical sing-alongs, outdoor rehearsals, and tons of new MTNs (musical theater nerds) to meet... maybe even a special someone. It almost feels like fate when the two friends return home to find local auditions for The Sound of Music. But as Louisa fantasizes about frolicking in the Alps, Jack gets tempted by a student-run drama competition that would reunite the two with their camp friends. Will Jack get Louisa to skip an audition? Can Lou handle Jack as her director? And will someone finally get a big, Broadway happy ending?
