The not-quite-accurately-named Plus Man is a tween-ish treasure hunter who works with the multi-talented robot, Hank, who serves as his roommate, backpack, partner, boxing glove, best pal, glider, and older brother. Hank manages to get Plus Man ptured while heisting a tablet from a local temple f the hook but is himself jailed by the highly corrupt Bolt City constabulary. Plus Man must strike a bargain with the nefarious Labyrinth gang and take on a mysterious partner to effect a daring rescue. Telling the tale with gleeful, off-kilter gusto, Sears borrows parts of many a fantasy masterpiece e blocky, futuristic aesthetic of Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky; the central relationship and world-invention of Adventure Time; the clear line verve of Tintin d combines them into something wonderfully distinctive. Sporting a very European comics sensibility in story and style, this comes as an enjoyable step off the beaten path for adventurous readers. It's shaky, lower case lettering makes for an occasionally frustrating read but exemplifies its nervy idiosyncrasy.

His Double+ character has appeared in a number of zines, online anthologies and the all-ages adventure comic Night Air , where he has been perpetually in over his head.
