In the world of dinosaurs, it's eat or be eaten, and Galusha handily explores that concept in this wordless graphic novel. Often told through fast-paced panels, the story mostly revolves around a young T. rex, which, having witnessed the murder of its parent by a pack of allosauruses, now struggles for survival and for a chance at revenge. Though some artistic license is taken with the main plot, the rest is realistic and carefully researched, with a dinosaur field guide included for further identification (final notes not seen). In this raw look at the prehistoric world, panels usually depict an attack or death on every page: a rotting triceratops is ripped apart by a pack of scavengers; a young pterosaur falls out of its nest to its death; a rat's head is bitten off by a small dinosaur; and so on. Though stark, Cretaceous is a fairly realistic vision of the more brutal aspect of nature and the circle of life. It's intense; it's graphic; and it's sure to be a favorite of dinosaur lovers.

Cretaceous is the research-based, action-packed and heart-wrenching account of a young T-Rex who is separated from its parents and must navigate the dangerous world around it.
When a Tyrannosaurus Rex is separated from its family unit, it embarks on a harrowing journey to reunite with them before the raw, real dangers of the Cretaceous Era separate them for good.
