Annotation: Mason Buttle is the biggest, sweatiest kid in his class and everyone knows he can barely read and write. All of this pales in comparison to how he feels about the death of his best friend. Mason is the most honest kid in the world; therefore, he cannot understand why Lt. Baird does not believe his account of what happened. Good thing his new friend, Calvin Chumsky, brings out the best in him. The two have created an underground hideaway to escape the constant bullying from the neighborhood kids. One day, Calvin mysteriously disappears and Mason's problems multiply. Who will trust him now?
