Despite the general focus, young men may also be interested in the well-researched and thoughtful information in the Young Woman's Guide to Contemporary Issues series. Common threads include helping teens find mentors, offering sample questions teens could ask of people such as guidance counselors and advisors, and lists of myths and facts. The attractive design uses plenty of color photographs with a signature soft color as background. Activism covers women engaged in social justice issues, especially focusing on women's issues, the history of women's rights, and ways teen girls can begin to help. Each book includes an excellent list of relevant organizations to contact for more information.
