Horn Book (Sat Apr 01 00:00:00 CST 1995)

Although the illustrations are 'inspired by the work of Garth Williams,' they lack the emotion Williams captured in his drawings depicting the Ingalls family. The brief texts, adapted from the Little House books, seem lifeless without the context of Wilder's beautifully written novels.
