Horn Book (Mon Oct 07 00:00:00 CDT 2024)

Each of these titles provides an outline of a historical disaster, but neither effectively uses the comic-book format. Dialogue often repeats information conveyed in the ponderous exposition; panel divisions are random and don't enhance the story. The illustrations are inexpressive and lack the details that might bring history to life for young readers. Reading list. Bib., glos., ind.
