This volume of the Seven Sequels series focuses on Bunny O'Toole, a teenage skater who has been abducted from his local rink. He doesn't know why, or by whom, and since he already feels dumb, he is not sure what to do. Bunny gradually learns that the kidnapping has to do with something called the Anthem and with his grandfather, who gave him a task to complete, just like the rest of his cousins (whose experiences make up the rest of the interlocked stories in the series, which can be read in any order). After Bunny makes a daring escape, he has to evade his kidnappers on foot, skating as fast as he can. The mystery is slowly revealed as Bunny finds out about his grandfather's life as a spy, and there's adventure on every page. Though Bunny's viewpoint, written entirely how he thinks and spells (in fragments and with frequent misspellings), may put off more advanced readers, the style will make the story more accessible to the high/low audience, and the stirring adventure will likely grab the attention of reluctant readers.

Bunny is in trouble. Hes been kidnapped from the skating rink at City Hall in Toronto, and now hes locked in a cold basement room, still in his parka and skates. Where is he? And why do his kidnappers keep asking questions about his dead grandpa and some weird national anthem? Bunny may not always know whats going on, but he has an innocents ability to get to the heart of things and find out what its all about. When he manages to escape, he skates across hockey rinks and down frozen highways, always a few strides ahead of his kidnappers. He gets help along the way from an assortment of characters—some kindly, some crazy, some scary and at least one that will make your jaw drop.
The Wolf and Me is the sequel to both Weerdest Day Ever!, part of The Seven Prequels and Ink Me, part of Seven (The Series).
