Alison Formento’s birthday is on September 8th.

Alison Ashley Formento was born in Arkansas. She has lived in Texas, California, Pennsylvania, New York, and now resides in New Jersey with her husband and kids. Her family enjoys taking trips, watching plays and movies, hiking and playing tennis. She explains her favorite daily activities, “Read, write, brush my teeth,” and her favorite errand as “lugging books to and from the library, and shopping at a bookstore, any bookstore, anywhere.”

Alison has had many other jobs in her life as well as writing. She has been a hand model, a clown making balloon animals, a game show tester, knighted people as a queen at a Renaissance Fair, and even a singing telegram delivery girl!

She writes articles, plays, and essays, which have appeared in several magazines and newspapers, including The New York Times, Parenting, The Writer, and various regional publications. Alison visits schools with PreK to 8th grade presentations that blend storytelling and language arts with trees, fun and wit.

Alison dreams of someday building a spectacular tree house, and donates a portion of her book sales to AmericanForests.org to help plant more trees.
